Google: gemini-3.1-flash-lite-image
Nano Banana 2 Lite is Google's lightweight image generation and editing model, powered by the Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite Image architecture. It accepts text, image, and video input and produces text and image output, including interleaved text and image generation. Images are generated at 1K resolution (1024x1024 pixels) across a discrete set of 14 aspect ratios, with legible text rendered directly into the image. It supports text-to-image generation as well as image editing through multi-turn conversations, handling interleaved generation and editing in a single workflow, and can accept up to 10 reference images for editing tasks. This model is designed for speed and efficiency. It can generate a text-to-image output in as little as four seconds and maintains high character alignment matching original Nano Banana standards. It is the recommended replacement for gemini-2.5-flash-image. Every generated image carries an invisible SynthID digital watermark and C2PA metadata, both always on and not configurable. It is drop-in compatible with OpenAI APIs and supports configurable model selection within the same node. Nano Banana 2 Lite suits high-volume 1K image generation, rapid concept previews, simple product-image variations, background or layout ideation, and latency-sensitive or cost-sensitive workloads. It is also useful for visual drafts, marketing concepts, product scenes, social media assets, thumbnails, and localized ad variations with in-image text rendering. Its knowledge cutoff date is January 2025, and it does not support 2K or 4K resolutions or Google Search grounding.
