Run it on Android (Termux)

SillyTavern has no Android app, but it runs on a phone inside Termux. Install it once with these steps, open it in your phone browser, then connect Lumen with the steps above.

  1. 1
    Install Termux

Get Termux from F-Droid or its GitHub releases page. The Play Store version is no longer maintained and does not work.

  2. 2
    Pick a mirror and update

Open Termux and run the first command. Choose Mirror group and a region near you, then update the packages.

    bash
    termux-change-repo
    pkg update && pkg upgrade

  3. 3
    Install the requirements

This installs Git and Node.js. On an older 32-bit phone, also run `pkg install esbuild` if the start fails with Unsupported platform.

    bash
    pkg install git nodejs-lts nano

  4. 4
    Download SillyTavern

This downloads the stable release into your Termux home folder.

    bash
    git clone https://github.com/SillyTavern/SillyTavern -b release

  5. 5
    Start SillyTavern

Open http://127.0.0.1:8000 in your phone browser and follow the setup steps above. Keep Termux running in the background while you chat. To start it again later, run these two commands.

    bash
    cd ~/SillyTavern
    bash start.sh

  6. 6
    Update SillyTavern

Run this whenever you want the newest version. Your characters and chats are kept.

    bash
    cd ~/SillyTavern
    git pull --rebase --autostash

Gotchas

  • Paste the base URL ending in `/v1` only. SillyTavern appends `/chat/completions` itself; adding it returns a 400 error.
  • An empty model dropdown means the connection failed. Re-check the base URL, then enable Bypass API status check.
  • A 401 means the key is expired or mistyped. Generate a fresh key in your Lumen dashboard and paste it without leading or trailing spaces.
  • If streaming cuts off mid-sentence, disable Streaming to confirm the cause, then re-enable it. Corporate proxies that strip the `data:` prefix also break it.
